I wish I had a nickel for each time I've had to explain to a new vendor or professional acquaintance that, just because I have the word "Bank" in my company's name - NationsBank -I don't spend my time dealing with huge, monolithic, batch-processing systems. (Sure, we have these systems. And yes, they're still in use.) However, there are large groups within our bank whose purpose is to explore the leading edge of technology.
